When I first saw these bags, I simply thought how cool and stylish they looked.Scroll down to see a larger image. Then I realized what they are made from and I had to share it with you. They are made from waste material that would normally be thrown out and end up clogging landfills.

Yes, this innovative company has joined forces with Coca Cola and make these bags using misprinted or damaged bottle labels. Even better, they are actually constructed by a free trade women’s collective located in Peru.

These labels, which are water resistant do not meet quality standards but as an alternative to simply being discarded, they are carefully hand-folded and crafted into the stylish bags you see here.

In the nineteen twenties, South Florida was booming. It wasn’t just that the state had been discovered as a wonderful place to take a vacation; there was also a land boom and investors were buying land and property to house holidaymakers and new residents.

Two serious hurricanes during that decade halted the boom temporarily but Florida recovered and from the north of the state right down to the Florida Keys, efforts were made to attract vacationers to the Sunshine State. This has left us with a lovely legacy – a huge range of advertising posters dating from the twentieth century.
